Remeber when 'This weeks special' was...................................................
actually special.
When people spent al day thursday posting what it may be....... and when it went on sale it was one item massively reduced........9800 Pro for literally peanuts.
Come on OCUK, get retro on those Thursday specials.

Yeah, and remember when the Imex Business Park was nothing but fields, and no one locked their doors, and children could play safely in the street, and beer was a shilling a pint, and Tony Blair was the Resurrection of Christ, and...

OcUK will never allow these forums to be used by those who would seek to tarnish our name, no matter how justified they feel their circumstances are. Posts of an offending nature slagging off OcUK, demoralising or demeaning the company name, complaints about bad service, etc. will not be tolerated. Posts openly criticising the policies of, or demonstrating a lack of respect for the Administrator are not permitted. If you have a criticism of the forums then feel free to mail the appropriate Don.
I agree, though.

By the lack of smiley i assume your being serious with this statement
The current policy of a couple of quid of several items just doesnt envoke the anticipation like the big one off item did. There used to be loads of speculation on the forums of what the deal would be, some people even got their accounts suspended over the arguaments that ensued.
Yes back in the day...when people clocked XP2500M's on an NF2 to within a Mhz of their lives. :p

But none of that applies to my original statement, how many posts are their now that speculate on the thursday deals.
If any Don feels my opening post out of order then feel free to remove it, im just raising the question and maybe give some usefull feedback for OCUK.
Since i started posting ive spent a fair few pennies at this place and only rarely bought elseware, i always recomend OCUK to any people who ask my advice on OCing so i dont think im being antagonistic towards OCUK.
Any Dons please give a comment

Not realy but through this medium it impossible to judge the real meaning of a comment, if youd have said it to my face it would have a different interpretation. Thats why you should never text when drunk.
Thats why emoticons are popular, so people can fill in the blank.

What resolution are you running at? Pixelated?

*Thinking you're running at 640x480... :D *

Since I've joined OcUK, I've rarely read threads about "This Week Specials", apart from once, when HiS IceQ3 was for sale...

ROFL. You are my new hero.

Any chance the weekly special being a £100 drop on the E6600 Conroe? :D (oh and it should work re-troactively for pre-orders hehe).

Hahaha, can you imagine?! OcUK would get about a million preorders, it'd be the biggest sale of all time! :D

Yeah, i used to look forward to the new this week onlys, with about 50+ products sometimes.

Now its so small and so unspecial they can fit what they put on there into a news update, not to mention i dont need any of the stuff on it. :(

Hhmmm there was a good this week only a few months back with the graphics cards being about £30 less or something. Thats the only hype I can remember though.

I bought my X1800XT when it was £190 on this week only, it was a shocker of a bargain at the time.

The last few weeks have seen less than underwhelming "This weeks Specials" :(

I hope we see silly price cuts on the AMD side of things to counter the Intel beast.

while i agree that the last few weeks have been rather dull as far as 'this week only' goes, you do have to remember that not so long ago they came off that HUGE ATI sale, before that they were doing upwards of 50-70 items... so i guess its time for a brief cooling off period.

only thing i will note is that i'm not that interested in digital camera's or mp3 players... its great that they're branching out and selling new items, but.... meh
