I hope its me, it usually is, but when asked for a password, there are a few options, such as Immediately Forget, Remember, Remember forever etc, but no matter what I do, it never does remember it.
Well, ok, not completely true, it remembers it for that session. Start up or restart, it forgets the Passwords completely.
For example, if I need to grab some files off my Server, I try opening it up and then it asks for the password. If I click on remember forever, I never get that. The seesion is ok, but the next time I try connecting.. Again, the password.
Windows does not do this and I am happy to just click on the Server or the NAS Drives and away I go!
Is there a way to get it to do what it says it will do?
It does this no matter what distro I use, and it a bit of a pain in the behind if I am honest.
Also, its the same when I am doing anything at all in Linux, the number of times I get asked for the Password, it just gone way past annoying.
I fully get that its for security etc, but this morning I did some playing about with my old SabreTooth Linux PC and I booted up and that bypasses the password now, so thats cool, and I went to install some stuff, I got asked the Password for updating the software sources, then asked again to actually do the update... Few minutes later I got asked again. I then did some other stuff and again I got asked again, and while sure, I was doing a lot of things, I got asked a good 10, 11, or 12 times in under half an hour... Its really irritating at times because I am the ONLY person who is using that PC.
Just having a bad day and whining about it.
