Hi all,

I have just set up a media centre PC but don't want to attach a mouse and keyboard to it.

can you please let me know the easiest way for me to remote desktop to the PC from my laptop so I can manage the media centre easily.

Both my laptop and Pc are running windows 7 home and are connected wirelessly to my router.

Thanks!

Matt

Any of the vnc clones will do what you want. But more specifically if you have a smart phone you cab use that to controle it, its all I've used for years.

Do you have any recommendations? I went to vnc first as I used it years ago but noticed you needed to pay for a version to work on windows 7

try TightVNC, I found it to be quite useful and is what I use to remote to my htpc.

I've also had mixed results with UltraVNC (sometimes it works perfectly, other times it has real problems with popups etc)

vnc does the trick for me for lan remote access as i cant use remote desktop due to having home premium. Wouldn't use it for wan to lan access though teamviewer or logmein for that :)
