Remote Access

Hi folks,

I am going abroad and need to be able to access my PC from my laptop. both are on Windows but I use Chrome.

What is the best free and simple to use programme if such exists?

I don't need to do a lot, just invoices, quotes etc with access to my folders for business.

Logmein should be fine.

there's live mesh (2011 pack needed) which works via your live login. I've used this and it works fine for me, no different to the built in windows remote desktop really.

Logmein Free is awesome, just be wary of non-standard or Dvorak keyboards.
In France a while back, I could log into the website but entering my login security info didnt work out.

if you have the pro versio or above on your pc you want to connect to use the built in remoate desktop ...

Are your pcs going to be turned on the entire time you are away? If your router supports WoL you can use that to turn it on when required then use logmein or teamviewer to remote onto it

Nope but someone will be home to turn the PC on. This person is not very PC minded so would they only need to turn the PC on?

Pretty much - maybe teach them how to reboot the router as well just in case of connectivity problems
