Remote Access

What is the best free remote access for my iMac and iPad pls?

My idea is when I get a Apple TV.. I then can access my iMac which is in a another room and turn on it airplay and control the iMac from the iPad while it displaying on the TV in the lounge this so i can select and play movies Ive made in iMovies of our daughter..

Would all this work/>

Why wouldn't you directly airplay them from the AppleTV? Or failing that, airplay them from the iPad rather than the other way around?

All the video from my camcorder 1tb worth is on iMac so I won't remote control it while it on Apple TV

If you can see the screen you're controlling then yes.
