Hey guys,

Having a problem here, just can't get this to work at all.

I'm trying to give my mate remote assistance. At first we tryed the usual way, through MSN - but that didn't work, it said he had it turned off or disabled, yet he did have it enabled...
So we tryed using Windows built in remote control, we both have remote assistance enabled... still didn't work. Also tryed VNC... didn't work either..

We both had our firewalls down to see if it would let us then, and that didn't work either

I don't know if the problem is at my end or his.

We're both behind routers, and I was just typing his IP into the Connect box.
If he's behind a router, would just typing his IP in work? or would I need to do somthing like > 81.255.255.255:LANIP ?

Any help would be awesome.

Also tryed to remote access my computer from another mates house and failed. ^__^

Ah, thanks guys ;P

I'll try that.

What if.... this is just a what if, but... what if you wanted to remote assist 2 computer's behind a router? Would you just change the port in VNC on one of the computers and get that port forwarded?

I'll use VNC as you's have said, but why shouldn't I be using the Windows remote desktop? Is that slow too ?
