Hi.

Can anyone help me setup Azureus so that i can access it remotely through the web interface?

Ive downloaded the http plugin for it, set a U/P, and my external IP is static.

Anyone care to lend a hand?

1: You have installed the plugin
2: You have configured the settings in Plugins > HTML Web UI > Enable Password
3: You have tested it internally http://localhost:6886 (it works?)
4: You have enabled firewall rules to port forward 6886 > internal lan > machine.
5: You have disabled any inside firewalls?

Just the Aziureus HTML WebUI?

Password set.
Username set.
port set to 26000.

Doesnt work. Just says unable to connect or similar in whatever browser i use.

4: You have enabled firewall rules to port forward 6886 > internal lan > machine.
My router is set to forward ports 26000-26001.
Not sure about Sygate, but iirc, it set to allow all traffic to and from Azureus.

Closed Sygate, still cant access.

Ideas?

If i set the port to 6886 again, and try with Mozilla, it just keeps trying to 'download' a jar file, which i asume is right, but it wont actually open it..

IE7 just shows me 5 black boxes.

Opera acts like FF and just wants to download something, but its not a jar file..

This is new to me?

Im guessing it can only be accessed on the local machine that its running on?

If i were to install it on a server, can i access it over the web from work?

here is an example for you.

I will allow you to access mine to test, bare in mind I have logging on so don't play about!

username: test password: test
http://uk-hub.homeip.net:6886

Seems to me something is blocking it, just install your internal firewalls because they are not needed when you have a router.

Follow this again but make sure SP2 firewall is OFF and you have no other firewall on.

1: Install Azurus
2: Install the plugin, and make sure you have configured the settings in Plugins > HTML Web UI > Enable Password
3: You have tested it internally http://localhost:6886 (it works?)
4: You have enabled firewall rules to port forward 6886 > internal lan > machine.
5: You have disabled any inside firewalls?

Actually thats wrong. Just because you have a router doesnt mean you dont need a firewall. Routers dont do outbound protection.

Regardless, i stopped Sygate, but i still cant get local access.

Already done all that.
And According to Azureus, the port its using, 6886, is perfectly fine. So its getting through.

IdeaS?

Yeh, I know that! I'm trying to give you advice but don't take a pounce on me.

I told you to check it locally, and you said it wouldn't work! so its a problem with the system config itself not the router as you can't even access it locally!!

Got it working through local host.
Changed the protocol from https to http.

right, good! why did you change it to https in the first place?

Security.
Https is more secure than http.

Works on remote computers as well, asked my mate to check.

Thanks for the help btw.

My only concern now is security.
I might play around, see if i can change the default port to something a little less standard. Ive tryed a few port changes upto now, but it just doesnt want to work. :(.

lol... a username and password should be sufficiant.

Odd.

I can get the username/password up at work, and the icon for the page, and the name of the page, but nothing will display.

Thats on two seperate net connections at work..

Ideas?

Quick question, 6886, is this a special port needed by remote azu or does this have to reflect the TCP/UDP ports that are open for Bit torrent to work?

Another problem i am faced with, is since i got it working through the web browser, my download speed has dropped conciderably...

It's an easy application to configure, much easier than azurus.. :D

I dont see how it would matter? surely if i got azurus working perfectly fine at home with high download speeds, then surely that should be the same when using the HTTP Access?
