hi was wondering about the following.

I have a badger set ( furry thing black/white/grey with teeth ) I want to monitor over night in a wood in the middle of nowhere ( 20 miles away but has a good phone signal but no mains power ), today I bought a 4g 5gb sim a tp-link mobile 4g battery operated access point with sim slot and a wifi enabled cctv camera.

now in theory can I connect the wifi camera to the hotspot put the sim in it and remotely access the camera or am I talking b**locks via my phone anywhere I want ( as long I have a signal )

if it can be done i'll spend some more money on a big battery to run the hotspot and camera longer.

( I tried a 3g trail camera but it can only send me a 640x480 image)

You'd need a camera that can upload video upon detecting motion as you won't get an inbound connection to a mobile SIM.

thanks, I got the battery router working with my surface tab, will get a cheap camera next and try it , then next step get one of them sim cards.

Whilst the data usage could prove to be expensive, is there something in place for the battery on the phone? if that is constantly using 4G and acting as a Wi-Fi hotspot I doubt it would last the night.
