Remote central locking issue

so recently my fob decided to stop working locking/unlocking the car or popping the bonnet (911). My first thought was it's the fob bit I've had it checked today and it's OK. What's next on the checklist in people's opinions, does anyone know how to check if the car is receiving a signal.

Do you mean battery?
Some fobs need reprogramming after the battery is replaced, or dead for too long. I think some just need plugging back into the dash to resync and work again. Check your car manual.

Yes that's the bit. I guess I need to try and get it booked in at a main dealer.

Have you done a quick google, might be a guide on how to sync/resync?

Yea the only guide mentions pressing the button on the fob with the key in the ignition but unfortunately that didnt work.
