Remote connect problem across LAN

I have two desktops and they are both running XP SP2. I can share a hard drive and view the drive but I cant connect using this method from the run command:

\\warpy\c$

I don't have any firewalls in use.

do both pcs run users with passwords,
try sharing a specific folder, see how that goes.

As above, very much depends on the error you get.

Also bare in mind you have to be a member of the local 'Administrators' group, or a group within that group - IE: Domain Admins to access a c$ share.

also may be worth trying the IP address of the machine rather than the name - eliminates any weird name resolution messages

Use a password on the Admin account of the system your trying to remotely connect too and then try again.
