Hi guys,

My company is producing an ipad app. We currently have windows mobile devices and we are able to remotely control them using logmein rescue. However, having had a look around there doesn't seem to be a way to do this on an ipad. Does anybody know of any software which can allow you to do this?

Not without jailbreaking them.
Out of interest why is it that they need to be controlled remotely?

My company are producing an iPad app and it would be really useful to be able to remotely support them like we can with the WM devices, but seemingly now can't. Great :/

Thanks for your help.

Could you not build this functionality into the app, maybe some button combo or similar that you can instruct the user to do, which lets you control the app?

Best take a look here, http://www.apple.com/iphone/business/#whatever

There is mention of :

Deployment options include support for Mobile Device Management, which enables businesses to wirelessly configure settings, monitor compliance with policies, and wipe or lock managed iPhone devices. And with wireless app distribution, businesses can securely host and distribute in-house apps directly to iPhone over Wi-Fi and 3G.

Sounds roughly what you're after.

OP is referring to remote control as in RDP/VNC, that link describes device policy/deployment management for enterprises similar to controlling blackberry policies through AD & BES server, unfortunately it won't allow them to control any aspect of their app other than installing/removing it etc :(

we ideally need to be able to see what the customer is seeing physically on their unit for training and support purposes. It's a bit of a shame really.. hm.. hopefully somebody will figure something out with Apple and they'll allow it very soon.

thanks for your help.

Have you thought about TeamViewer? Traditionally it would mainly be used to control a Windows PC from an iPad however you can "switch screens" in version 6 so effectively you could see their screen. It isn't cheap though

hmm.. interesting. looks to be $149 for the pro version, that's fine, we will be supporting over 100 units (and growing) so it's a drop in the ocean really :)

Thanks!
