Remote control extender

Hi guys,

Basically we have a virgin media (V+ Box) downstairs and it's wired upstairs via a coaxial so I have the video signal and the sound is sorted as well. The problem is, if I want to change the channel I have to run downstairs and change it.

I've found a couple of wireless remote extenders but the one I found says

"Please Note :
This unit will not work with the NTL digital cable boxes, Telewest Digital nor Bang and Olufsen,"

It doesn't actually say Virgin Media V+ but NTL got taken over by them as far as I know.

The model is "X10 PowerMid Remote Extender with Remote XPM10CLEDRB"

There are codes for the V+ boxes that can be used with high-end learning remotes such as Philips Prontos. My guess is that the V+ boxes now use standard frequency IR codes so the Powermid will probably work.
