Remote control for ASUS monitor?

Maybe this is a stupid question as I know monitors as a rule don't come with remote controls however I have a spare ASUS VS278H that my boys are using in their bedroom for their XBOX. There is also an amazon fire stick and DVD player hooked up to it and I was wondering if anyone has successfully used any of the universal remotes out there for their monitors?
 
The monitor won't have an IR Receiver built in, if it didn't come with a remote originally :)

If everything is hooked up via HDMI, you could get a HDMI switcher with say 4 inputs as some of those come with remote controls.
