If your running windows xp media center you can grab one of those controls if not how about a wireless keyboard?

just windows xp sp2, i use old skool winamp 2.5e (1999!)

there is shareware softwere you can download that will intergrate any remote control with the pc if you have an Infa red port, buts its quite complicated and doesn't work well, from what i remember. Apart from that i'm out suggestions i'm afraid. unless you buy a tv card or what not that has one.

i use a Streamzap PC Remote myself, works like a dream :)

There is a linux mod for it on the net as well.

Does anyone know if those trust ones work ok? £17 is quite cheap and it looks nice and small. that steamzap is only £20 anyway

I discovered an awesome piece of software called salling clicker, liked it so much, ended up buying it. The cool thing about it is that you can not only control winamp, you can launch it remotely, browse your music library on the phone and enqueue tracks. Lots of mediplayer and itunes controls aswell. Well worth checking out. You can even shut down windows and control the mouse.

The free version allows full functionality but only lasts up to 15 clicks before you have to reconnect. The winamp plugin is available on the free stuff page and there's a thread on the site's forums explaining how to use it :)

Bluetooth Remote Control for Windows Mobile
thats what i use on my SPV C600 and it is lovely :) (and very simple too!)

^I'm in the process of beta testing the latest version which now supports bluesoleil bluetooth stack(I'm using xp x64 but vista support is added). In the beta section (which is only viewable to members) a member is reporting it works with vista x64 pretty well.

I'd like to point out that the latest version of salling clicker works perfectly with Widcomm 6.0.1.4400 64bit on Vista.

tried salling clicker and it just says 'bluetooth is unavailable;' strange that, seems as ican easily make a connection with IVT BlueSoleil

^oh yeah forgot to point out, bluesoleil isn't available in the current full version, it's only in the beta but the new version is nearly finished.
