Remote control for Yamaha AV amplifier

I have a RX-V671 home cinema amplifier and the remote has finally packed up. I can use the mobile app. so it's not critical, however what would be the best route ?

The genuine remote is £35 online so does any one know of a universal replacement that will fully replace the old remote ?

I'm a bit behind on these things!

Fire a email off to Yamaha Uk . when my remote was stolen they sent me a free replacement ! (very nice of them )

The volume button on my Onkyo remote has packed in after 7 years so I was on the look out for a replacement but they are going for about £25 which seems a bit steep for its age.

So I am going to try cleaning it later using the this guide I know its a different manufacturer but maybe worth a shot.

Don't you need to have the old one to programme it ?

Nope, you just need to know the Make and Model of what you want to control.

I've just looked and it says Harmony 350 is compatible, however I wonder if all functions are supported.
Most universal remotes I've had in the past just seem to cover the basic functions.

All the Harmony's will be compatible, on some (without screens) you may need to assign functions to odd buttons, ie you may need to assign Sound Style to the Info button or some such, but every button on your current remote will be mapable to any button on the Harmony.

OK thanks, I can do basic functions from app, but not things like run speaker setup or even bring up OSD in fact.

if it is a full replacement then it looks like I may be asking Santa for one of those then :-)

Yeah, best thing I ever bought and even better now I have paired it with Alexa. It's quite nice getting home and just saying "Alexa, ask Harmony to turn on sky"

But saying that mine is the Ultimate with Hub - so a bit more money than the more basic ones.

I would recommend urc remotes
If you buy mx 850 same as mine I can send the file for the 671 as I have a 671.
