Remote control on OSX?

Hi guys, my dad is selling his iMac but needs me to back up his data to Onedrive. I don't have time to get over to his house, 3 hour round trip. What software options do I have so I can do it from my Mac at home? Cheers.

Teamviewer works in this situation and doesn't need you to muck around opening ports on routers etc ...

From an ease of use either team viewer or the google remote desktop options (details in the post by Shine) have worked brilliantly for me in the past.

You could also SSH into laptop, this requires more effort (Less friendly for remotely setting up and diagnosing where it goes wrong) to setup. It does give you unlimited control though (assuming you can then make yourself SU.
