Remote control pc?

Well what do you want to do with your PC from 'remote' and how far away are you actually thinking here? I used to have a Radeon AIW remote control and that mean I could move the mouse on screen and click up to maybe 20 feet away as well as programme some of the buttons on the remote to do certain tasks. There are probably better solutions now but at a a basic level that is remote control.

Basically just for media centre with vista. And I won't be that far away maybe just a couple of feet

Thats arm + keyboard length then. 
Probably the XP MCE 2005 controller is the sort of thing you are looking for then but wait until someone else can clarify this as I don't know if Microsoft have released any drivers for it under Vista yet.
