Hey!

Not looking to spend 100's on an all singing and dancing remote control, just wanting one which will work with it and the tv ect.

Seen a few about 25ish, but unsure what ones will work with it or not!

Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

+1 for the Logitech remote. I use the Logitech Harmony Smart Control, it's a good size, nice and sleek with plenty of buttons to customise (but not too many like some of the others). It is a little pricey at £65, but you can probably find it cheaper.

The Logitech "activities" allow you to perform multiple actions, for example the media button I have setup to turn on TV, wake the NUC and activate my amp, the remote from then on in this mode can be used to control all 3 devices. These can be a little fiddly to setup but not too bad and is only a one time thing. You can also set it up so that a key press maps to a keyboard shortcut allowing apps to be launched. I have Plex pinned to the task bar and have mapped the shortcut 'Win+1' to my chosen key on the remote so that I can start the media client or just leave windows loaded if I am browsing. You could load a media client automatically on the activity load so that it is all ready to go from 1 button press.

Also the Logitech Wireless Touch K400 keyboard is great to use with the NUC, again quite small and has a mini track pad, good for browsing the web etc. Costs about £25 so a cheaper option, out of the 2 for me the keyboard is what I would recommend, the remote control is a nice to have.

Cheap Logitech Harmony, pretty sure the Harmony 650 i have only cost ~£40 and works with everything i have, amp, virgin tivo, tv, kodi etc.

Thanks guys!

Do like the look of the expensive ones, but the NUC cost me about 115 and I can't seem to justify a lot for a remote!

The 350 seems like the perfect suggestion! I noticed some of the one 4 alls dont seem to do pc, which was a bit worrying... but that logiech one does!

I don't get the love for logitech remotes. Not used mine since I discovered cec. For example pausing my movies when I change source. Sleeping the nuc when I turn the TV off. I use my TV remote to control my TV, reciever and Nuc.

I use a FLIRC. Usb IR set and forget and just use my TV controller. Very flexible and you can make any command on any remote do pretty much any key press/action.

Interestingly almost all of those devices can be cec enabled I expect. Exceptions would be sky box and room Light (unsure how your using pc speakers) . So I'd use cec even if I also used a logitech remote. Advantage being not having sync issues when wife forgets to point the controller at the devices..

I know i'm late to this, but use a Flirc - is fully customisable, you can bind complex commands to any button press on your existing remote and use your existing remote to control everything. My Sky remote does TV/Sky/NUC perfectly.
