Remote control?

I watch DVD's on my computer whilst not at my desk and I'd like the ability to use a remote control to control the volume and other features. I find returning to my desk to use the mouse annoying.

Is there a product out there that I can use?

I'm way too fond of my IBM keyboard and MX510 to be considering replacing them just for a remote.

I'm guessing the mobile phone solution is a bit tedious.
