Remote Desktop Connection slow file transfers

Hello.

I am using my iMac to connect to work and I have just given access to one of my iMac folders so I can drag files to my iMac. Problem is the file transfer is like 130k and the achievable network speed at work is about 10mb and at home is 60mb.

It sounds like you're quoting download speeds. How fast is the upstream of the work connection?

From the sounds of things the connection for work may be ADSL, which the max upload rate is 1.3mb. Only way to improve this is to find ADSL packages that does up to 2.5mb, or move to a FTTC/cable connection.

are you connecting to the works network using a VPN client and then using rdp or are you directly rdp-ing to the other pc?
