Hello to anyone in the know. I was curious what file transfer times would be like from a desktop to a remote desktop for a 1GB File. When at home my upload of a 1GB file can take 8-12 hours which is woeful. I've been reading up on premium remote desktop services and I can could have upload speeds of 20-80MBPS for $30-60 a month.
My only issue is how long would it take to transfer over a file from my desktop to the remote desktop I don't want to wait 5-6 hours for effectively the same upload delay.
I've seen peopl say you can copy and paste etc on various google searches or let it read the hard drives/usb data on your desktop but realistically how long would a 1GB file transfer take with a shoddy upload speed from home ?
I also saw something about FTP transfer, anyone have a suggestion for me ? I wouldn't mind paying for a premium service like this if I can get the files to the remote desktop in a timely manner (under 2 hours perhaps if the upload can be done in less than an hour on the remote desktops side)
