Since last Thursday my remote desktop has suddenly stopped working. After about 5mths of perfect service. :(

Our office has 3 PC's 2x Vista ultimate and 1x xp pro.
Our remote office/PC has 1x xp pro machine.

The remote PC can connect to the xp Pro machince at our office. Both Vista PC's can also remotely control the XP machine inside the office.

Problem is the remote PC can not connect to either of the vista machines, (which it needs too), nor can the vista machines remotely control each other.

I've checked the port forwarding and nothing has changed. Remote desktop is allowed via firewall.

Any ideas?

Have you tried disabling the firewall? i know you say no settings have changed, but i think the windows firewall is acting a bit more stricter these days, i don't know why, but in work i had trouble connecting to machines that i never used to, but when i test without the firewall on, it works fine.

Cheers for the help.

I think it was one of the windows updates. As it stopped working about that time and I noticed Linksys released a firmware update for our router shortly after as well.

Updated firmware, rebooted modem & router, re-assign internal IP's and port forwarding and now everything is back to normal.
