Hi guys, can anyone recommend any free remote desktop support tools? I am sick of having to go round to a certain persons house to show them how to use the machine. I have a few people I help with issues so a remote support tool would be handy.

It would hopefully be easy to connect so that the end user doesn't have to do anything overly challenging to set up a connection.

Thanks

that thread isn't asking quite the same question, as you will see the guy who recommended team viewer got E slapped.

Apart from it's exactly the same and he didn't get e slapped because it was a bad recommendation only because he didn't take any notice of the OP.

thanks Tom, great input mate, thanks for the recommendation - I know, instead of being rude how about either help with the question, or don't post at all?

Read what the other guy is asking, he has built a HTPC, so the best recommendations are things like xbmc - how is this the same question as providing remote desktop support? this guys owns both machines and can set up the connections, what I am asking is for recommendations on connecting to machines I have no ownership of.

Whatever, point is you could read the thread and figured out that Teamviewer would be a good suggestion. The guy who posted it in there was only rebuked because it was not quite what the OP needed, it'll be ideal in your case.

Teamviewer
UltraVNC
RealVNC

All good bits of software, all recommended in the other thread as well funnily enough.

Join.me is good, use it at work.
Just tell them to go to said website. Download installer, ask for code and job done

Crossloop used to be good, but avg have just purchased them and closed them for some reason
There was also bomgar but think that is now a paid for version
