Remote desktop to windows pc's

I am looking to be able to remote desktop to a windows based media centre in another room. Is the Microsoft client the best way to do this or is there better third party apps available?

Install UltraVNC on the Windows computer.

Then on your Mac (supposing you're running Leopard) while on the Finder select Go > Connect to server..

Then enter in vnc://*ip address of other computer*

The name of the computer should work also. That is how I do it and it works great for me
