OK I have vista on my laptop and xp pro on my desktop, I have set up remote desktop and can now control/see my desktop from my laptop!
Question is how do I know what connection it is using? Is it going over the internet or just using my wireless LAN network??
Reason I ask is that I am a bit thick and also I have limited amount of download/upload and don't want to waste it all controlling pc's remotely in my house!

Where is the information on where the connection is being made? Also if it is going over the internet how do I reroute it so it just uses the LAN wireless network through my wireless router??

OK thanks for the help.

Do you know where it shows the fact that it is using the LAN in my house? Is there a window or something that shows what I'm connected to and what connections I'm using??
That would be great.
