i have a few xp home pc's and a few xp pro's

is there anyway i can connect from the pro's to the homes for example if someone had a XP HOME PC and had a problem can i connect to it using remote desktop

i cant really see what you want want a xp home pc to connect to pro wouldnt it wanna be the other away so you can fix pc's from pro users to home users?

Whats the other method were you can access a machine in the same way as remote desktop but via a web browser. (maybe its remote desktop via browser)

I used to do this a few years ago which was great but I now forget how. Think I downloaded an addon from Microsoft or something.

Anyone know how as it was quite handy when all you needed was the internet and IE.

VNC can work through a web browser IIRC.

Remote Desktop can't be installed on to a Win XP Home PC. Give VNC a go (www.realvnc.com) as suggested by Tolien, it can be accessed via a remote desktop style application or via a Java applet for your web browser

Does the free edition of VNC support browser interface?

Just wondering as the bloody download files are corrupt which is a good start.

Yep. Just point your browser to http://othermachine:5800 (or 5801 etc...) and away you go.
