Hi

I have a sky connection which goes to a router and then to 3 pieces

I have also a talktalk connection for work that goes to a router and then to 2 pieces,

I am trying to RDC from one sky machine onto a machine on the talktalk setup

I know that I need to use the external IP for the talktalk line and then the port to get me through the router, but how do I find the machine behind the router as there are two, both of them I have assigned IP addresses to

is it as easy as setting up a port to go to one IP and then a port to go to another IP

that way when I input the external IP and then the port, the router sends it of to which ever pc

You need to orward the port to one of the LAN IPs, and a different port to another IP - which means the server on one or other machine will need to be configured to listen on that port (if you can't do port redirection on the router).

instead of forwarding ports, it's easier (and safer) to just install hamachi on a pc at work and a pc at home (or all machines) and create a virtual network between them, they'll connect no problem then

-pieces, wth!?

why does everyone on here call it RDC? its RDP damnit, i know both work but it just doesnt sound right >_<

RDC = remote desktop top client
RDP = remote desktop protocol

they each have their uses, but it is annoying as they mean dfferent things.
