Remote desktop

I'm getting ^&*()^ off with my mum keep wanting me to solve stupid, simple problems over the phone and trying to explain simple concepts like copy & paste over and over again.

Is it possible to remote desktop into her PC if we aren't on the same network?

If so what software is best?

You have no idea how much hassle you've saved me. As an indication, she once said the mouse wasn't working correctly, I finally managed to find out that she had it upside down with the buttons buried in her palm ... I mean come on mum ffs!!
