Remote desktopping between 2 computers on a LAN.

I have 2 computers in seperate rooms on a LAN, one of which can play television with a digital USB stick. What is the best way to remote desktop from the 2nd computer onto the first one so that I can use his TV program, and is it likely to be fast enough so that I can watch TV properly?

Just use the windows built in remote control program. Are they both running XP pro? As for the speed, it depends entirely on the speed of your LAN, ie is it 100Mbps or gigabit etc?

Edit; Why dont you just plug the usb stick into the other machine?

Can't plug the USb stick into another machine as I have no RF cord in this room.

I think its a 100mbs connection. Got it working and tried playing a video file over it but it was very choppy.

I've never used it myself but perhaps this is the sort of thing VLC server could be used for?

Something similar was asked a few days ago, try searching for TV or something similar.

Windows Media Encoder is one option you could use, others were mentioned.
