Remote for Android TV

Hello again, I've finally got an x96 Android TV box, which is cheap and cheerful/crappy, but half the poor experience is the rubbish IR remote that comes with it. Does anyone have tips on what a good replacement would be for this which has RF/BT connection and maybe a keyboard/air mouse for searches? Having a USB dongle wouldn't be an issue.

One option is a little keyboard trackpad. I use a I8 style keyboard. It's good enough for kodi navigation, but not too big it's annoying like full size keyboard. I'm using Amlogic X905x3 chinese box with Kodi installed via Coreelec.

Also use a programmable universal remote MX-850. I've got the stock IR codes plus the Microsoft codes learned, as both are needed.

I'll check whether the Microsoft remote (the silver HTPC one) controls Android or Coreelec.

I just tried the Microsoft IR remote model 1039 with my Kodi box

It controls it with corelec

CoreELEC

A lightweight OS for Kodi

coreelec.org

But not the stock android os.

I would recommend installing corelec as it's much better than the version in android.
