I want to basically make a 'perfect' machine and ghost it onto other machines along with the configurations i setup such as scheduled tasks, screensaver password protected, specific files pre saved on hard disk etc.

What is the best method to do this? I have about 20machines identical.

Do i use ghosting or remote installation service?

You can use either method but the real problem you'll need to look at is the SID and computer name of the image as it'll be the same. With RIS you'd run sysprep on the image so that when restored and booted it prompts for a new computer name. With Ghost you can use a util called GhostWalker which basically changes the identity of the machine after you've restored the image.

I want the SID to be the same each pc is going onto a different network. It's fine. What i want to know is if i can customise the windows configurations such as scheduled tasks, themes etc and have that installed by RIS. If so how?
