Remote KVM over IP

Anyone know if there are any modules or addons you can get for KVM over IP units like the PowerEdge 2160AS or HP E01013 to give them the capability of truly remote access, like the Lantronix Spider, so I can access one or more servers from the BIOS up over the network? Or failing that, any options other than the Spider? I've seen D-Link used to do one but its now discontinued. The original idea was to find something like Dells DRAC or HPs ILO but for homebuilt boxes, but that seems an impossible ask.

We have some HP KVMs at work that do this. I don't know the model number of the top of my head, even if I did I wouldn't recommend them. They are pretty unfriendly to use and feel cheaply made, even though they probably were far from cheap.

I know there are new units that might do it natively, like the Dell 1081AD so there would be an HP equivalent, I was just hoping for a £100 add on for current kit rather thasn a £900 new unit.

I think we use the Dominion KX II, I haven't used any other ipkvm's before but this one gets the job done.

I'm looking at both the Raritan and APC models now. Also controlling hard power on and off seems too much Godlike power to ignore

Out of interest, are any of these kvms and console modules cross-compatible? Like has anyone used an Aten ps2 console module on an APC IP KVM?
