Remote reset and power switch

Hello,
I am looking to put my PC in a position that i cannot easily get to the power and reset switches. I was thinking of making up a simple box with a couple of switches on it and running cable to the MB pins.

Am i right in thinking that the reset and power switch simply connects the 2 pins whilst the switch is pressed?

Do you see any issues with this cable being about a meter long?

Thanks, like you say i think the length will be ok, but still not sure if the power and reset switches are simply push to make contact switches.
