I'm looking for a wireless trigger for my 40D. Main reason is I'll be in some of the wedding photo's I'll be taking next Month and don't fancy running into shot relying on the timer.

Cheap and cheerful if possible :)

There are plenty cheap IR based ones, about £40 - I have one kicking about for my Nikon but it's third party so I'm sure there's a Canon version...limited range but functional enough

Or going up the scale - pocket wizards have a 1600 ft range they say and are really flexible but cheap and cheerful they ain't. Only worth it if you have serious remote triggering needs and want to play with wireless flash too in the future...

Canon's TC-80N3 does pretty much anything you want, however at £110 it isn't cheap!

Except the 'being wireless' bit? ;)

I believe the LC-5 is the Canon option but to be honest you need to be sectioned if you're willing to pay for that, if you've got that kind of cash then shelling out a little extra for pocket wizards is better value...

I've got a Hama Ca-2 wireless remote which I bought for my 40D. I can't test it on that as it's boxed waiting to be sold but I tried it on my 20D and it worked perfectly.

Ah but when im doing shots that I run into I set a 20 second timer with 2 seconds between shots.

So I never miss a picture and I always get a shot with everyone looking with their eyes open!!
