How can I remotely view someones screen over the network without them being alerted to the fact they are being watched?

RealVNC.
Or any non-Remote Desktop viewing app.

The icon for VNC would change if it was displayed, but most users wouln't notice.

I'm sure there's others that would be completely invisible.

Sorry I should have expanded on this:

I need a bit of software to allow me to remotelyview someone's screen without them being notified about it.

Preferably it needs to install accross the network and be a freebie or trial as it's only for one off usage.

Download and instal realvnc go into the registry and replace the 1 with a 0 to get rid of the icon, you will have to look for the precise instructions on the net, I've done it before :) and it does work a treat :)

but I cannot remotely install VNC, it would have to be done on the users machine or by login script, but I need to see the users screen before he goes home.

Yep - Dameware installs remotely. :)
(Our call monitoring/recording software also allows us to do this... Installed on all PC's by default. :D )

Yeah it does install, but it also notifies the user when they are being watched.

hmmm think I am gonna have to just let this one go till I can get something like VNC installed.

I am sure the little git is looking at things he shouldnt be.

Temp Internet Files for just now?
A bit rough and ready but has timestamps too.

Or use the remote installer as advised above by the ever helpful bledd., and edit the registry remotely...

tis ok, Dameware does what I need, just need to have the full ver rather than the evaluation version that I am currently running

Damware does let you turn off the thing that tells them you are connected...

Oh you sorted it already, sorry.
