remote virus checkers?

I remember the day when you could get a complete system scan online. Now (not currently running an antivirus suite) I'd like to check a single file I've downloaded for trogens etc.

Is there a place someone can recommend to this?

I know this thread is kinda old now and the OP has probably done a scan, but I just found this site; http://virusscan.jotti.org/
which is excellent for scanning single files. It scans using 20 different AV engines !
