** Remotly Accessing Server Help **

Hi,

i have tried everything to get my domain contrller accessable via the internet so i can work on it from home eg: use active directry from home to change domain users profiles.

it will just not connect even through LAN!

Any Ideas? :mad:

Connect to your network using vpn then use rdp to connect to your server.

That's probably one of the most straightforward ways of doing it. Make sure you use chap2 and maximum strength encryption though if your using MS vpn.

Better yet, get yourself a cheap hardware vpn/security applicance such as a sonicwall, and use a dedicated vpn client on the machines your connecting back to base with (so to speak).

are you using routing and remote access on the server or something? I wouldnt open your DC up to the internet without using a form of encryption, e.g. vpn minimum.

Set a different server up as Routing and Remote access and create vpn connections on that, or better still, use a hardware router with vpn.
