Remove CyanogenMod?

How do I do this, I have formatted the phone and tried to install stockdroid.zip however it didn't work do I need to install a ROM/firmware via Odin first ?

I have a zip 350mb stockdroid.zip is that a rom, I install this via adb sideload stockdroid.zip and it does install, I think a ROM is installed via odin though, if so where do I get a stock android ROM for S4 mini?

Odin will restore all partitons (system, data, recovery, bootloader, etc) to stock, while the zip file will sometimes flash to certain partitions, so it won't be fully stock. The stock file you have may even require a custom recovery to work, which may explain why it doesn't work with fastboot commands.

I have flashed clockwordmod with odin and formatted in recovery, system/data/cache etc, and installed this above file via recovery using, adb sideload xxxx.zip, it loads cyangenmod back on obviously but that's all I can revert to just now as I can't find a stock ROM and don't know if I flash it via odin or recovery anyway. Odin doesn't accept zip files in the AP section, only md5, tar etc anyway.

Any step by step instructions with links would be greatly appreciated as to how I revert my phone back to the way it was when I bought it, half my apps don't work with cyangenmod that's why I want it removed.
 
How come if I go to recovery and format all options then install this 244MB zip, again from recovery, cyangenmod installs again, is there some kind of underlying Android OS that you can't remove?

What is the actual purpose of Odin, what's the difference between Odin and install a zip in recovery?
