Hi all,

I need your help. I have got a problem with my old fan as the plastic where the holes goes on the corners of the fan they has been snapped, so I would like to remove the fan starter with the pcb to put it on the new fan case. Is that possible to do that?

If so, I would like to know how.

I have tried to get them off but it won't come out. I would like to know how I can get them off so I can put them on the new fan case.

Thanks in advance.

Honestly that's so much work for a £3-10 component. Is it an amazingly good fan?

You would basically have to snap off the centre frame and fix it to a new fan frame you had removed THAT motor from, without breaking that new frame.

I dont think it is that easy to get the fan starter off on a new fan frame as I could break it.

Unless you have a like for like replacement I don't fancy your chances. Each fan you buy will have different spindle diameter, different bearings, height, blade shape etc.

Fan spindles are sometimes held on with a circlip that would need prising off. This may sit below a small rubber bung behind the label.
