Remove numberplate - double sided tape

I used some Signature Group tar and glue remover to get off literally cemented on plates. Sprayed a bit at the top of the plate let it run down and they pulled off after a few mins soaking then used the same to remove all residue glue/sticky pad.

Heat and Dental floss and then go over with Tardis, then polish and protect. Be careful with the heat as you could warp the number plate, I would likely avoid the heat until you get it off via dental floss, then use the heat to warm up the adhesive and get the worst of it off :)

I'd go with using a hairdryer to help warm it up and get the plate away from the tape then if the heat hasn't also helped bring the tape away from the bumper then some WD40 or Mr Sheen to help get it off.

With the Mr Sheen it helps to leave it for 10 mins or so to soak into the adhesive.

Used to be a time where you could cover most jobs with WD40, Mr Sheen or Fairy Liquid :p

Been trying to do this and it seems i am cutting more into my hands than the actual foam itself...and then the floss snaps.

I think I need some fishing wire.

just man up and pull the dam thing off....:o:eek:

removed both my front and rear ones recently with out completely destroying the plate or damaging the car

Always this. Never managed to not pull a number plate off (ooo err).

I ended up pulling it off. Didn't damage anything and the leftover residue came off really easily. No mess no fuss :)

Well played. Man points incoming.
