Remove silence from mp3 files

Hi guys,

been trying to find an app that will take an mp3 and remove any portions of audio where there is silence. I have had a search and tried a few options but nothing seems to work nicely. Have tried fission and audioslicer but no joy. Is it possible to get an app to even filter by frequency range or something? Basically it is a radio feed with periods of silence of varying length and I want to trim this to only have sound and no gaps of silence.

Any recommendations?

Hi, I already had audacity but I am looking something that will do a 'batch remove silence' as I don't want to have to do this manually as the recording is over an hour long.
I looked through manual but couldn't find out how to batch remove silence in audacity.

Audio Hijack is a possibility, if you don't mind it not being lossless. Just tell it to record from whatever app is playing the radio feed, but removing silence.
