Remove Spy Quake 2.0 help needed

Ok, i have a friend whos pc got spyware for a "so called" anti-spyware program which when i removed it i thought was it all removed, it left an icon in the bottom right corner and keeps on bringing up a box saying that she has spyware which can cause damage etc, buy me! does anyone really know how to solve this issue? i've ran spybot and ad-aware, they cleared a load of items, theres no spyware left on this machine however the little icon with its little ad is still there, any help anyone can provide will be greatly appreciated, btw, i have googled, and all i get up is about quake and gamespy :S

had this prob not long ago, way i did it was wrote down everything in task manager before the pop up then see what changes after you get the popup then do a search on your computer using whatever name came up in TM

My dad had this, nasty bugger but removed quite easily.

The only bit I had to do different to the guide was removing
stickrep.dll, I went into safemode, renamed it stickrep.old and
deleted it via Start>Run>Cmd
