remove wireless controller from xbox 360?

hey
is there any way i can disconnect one of my wireless controllers from my 360?

i'm using one of them on my pc now, but every time i'm upstirs on the pc and i turn the controller on my xbox goes on downstairs, and if i tell the misses to turn it back off, my controller goes off

everything's wired up behind a unit, and if i turn the plug off everything goes off, wich i don't think she'd be to happy about if she was sitting watching eastenders
