Hi,

I just removed all Nvidia drivers for my 680i board and 8800GTX prior to installing new ones. Now mouse and keyboard do not function when the Windows XP login screen comes up.

They work (at least the keyboard does) to enter to bios, but not when XP boots up. They do not work even when XP is in safe mode.

Any fix greatly appreciated.

Is your keyboard and mouse connected using USB? if so, then i think the only way round this issue would be to use a PS2 mouse or PS2 keyboard, or a USB > PS2 adapter with your mouse or keyboard untill you have installed the new chipset/USB drivers.

You could try pressing F8 at boot and booting the system using the last good configuration, it may work, it may not, the option above is probably the best option.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, good advice. However I have tried ps/2 mouse kb, with no success. Also last known good configuration doesn't work.

When I remved the Nvidia drivers it seems to have removed all support for USB or PS/2 input devices.

Anyone else got any suggestions please?

I am pretty sure I can get everything going again by re-installing windows, but don't want to do this if not required.
