Removing 4870X2 shroud.

Hi,

As above. This thing is idling a fair bit higher temps now, compared to when I bought it anyway. I have taken out the obvious screws several times but there seems to be something stopping the shroud from coming off. I reckon there must be quite a bit of dust in there now preventing 100% airflow efficiency.

Any ideas apart from a hammer?

I tried that but it didn't work too well, ran out in no time. In fact it was more beneficial for my arctic freezer pro.

When I took the shroud off my 5850 I think I had the same problem... can't remember what it was in the end though. :/ I remember thinking it was the screw underneath the HDMI port but that wasn't it. It wasn't the fan cable either as that has some flex.

Just jiggle it a bit?

^^lol, yeah, well I suppose I could 'jiggle' it a bit since the warranty expired yonks ago. Bought one of those air compressors but it was underpowered for what I think you'd need for a video card. It was only a cheapo one.
