Hi everybody,

My first post so I just thought I'd say hello...

The problem that I have is that I have a wireless router attached to my desktop but I have recently brought a laptop and set this up to work wireless through the router and it works fine.
I changed my computer (laptop) name and now when I select 'network' it brings up all the connected devices but it also brings up my laptop twice under the old name and the new name and I cannot delete the old name.
I have tried everything and cannot get around this so I would appreciate any help with gettings this removed.

You may need to put any instructions in the simplest way you can!

Thanks

Something is cache'd somewhere that needs clearing. It could be DNS possibly as your laptop's IP and MAC may not have changed since changing the name. try doing "ipconfig /flushdns"

Generally i find Vista aweful for networking. This is what i would do to make things easier.

Find out whats the IP Address of the other two XP Pcs
Go to start, in the run command type in \\192.168.1.***
Now it should pick up the name of the XP PC and then copy and drag that link onto your desktop to make a short cut.
Do this for the other XP Pc and you've got two direct links to the other PCs.
