Whilst attempting to mount my 3 TFT's on the wall this afternoon I managed to scratch one of them, its not deep and its only about 2CM long, but it looks awful on a white background. I would simply replace it, but I only got it 6 days ago. Is there any way to buff it out?

BTW the monitors are not level at all, an entire day wasted  I also broke my desk and fish tank lid in the process

Sorry to hear that, stroke of bad luck! I dont know what you could use but metal polish works wonders on scratched watches - I'd wait for some other people to reply before you try it though!!

Bad luck mate but leave the scratch alone, you can't buff it out, you can only scratch the area around it making it worse.

I guess you could lie that it arrived damaged.

DOH!

I bought it from OCUK and I am not going to cheat them.

This is probably not what you want to hear, but would it have not been prudent to erm... check the heights of the monitors? Lie them on the floor perhaps?

Anyhoo, can't help that now. I suppose you can just avoid white backgrounds :D

My DIY skills are normally very good, however I sank the center monitor mount 4CM into the wall so it would be easier to angle the left and right monitors, that's where the problems started :D Anyhoo I am going to get a builder in to fix it all this week.

Some pics to laugh at -

Looks ok from a distance with poor webcam -

I did something similar to my LG 1710S when I was moving out of my flat. Didn't notice till I booted the PC up some weeks later to see a nice diagonal scratch on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Don't really notice it unleess I'm working with something white on screen.

Are they all the same monitor? How did you manage to scratch it by the way?

2 Samsung 913N and a scratched Samsung 940BF. I went to B&Q today to get some wood and some decent tools, I managed to get the monitors quite stright, I also made a new desk.

I just need to know if they have a coated surface so i can try that Displex stuff.
