My girlfriend bought a new coat online which arrived today and it turns out it still has the security tag on!
We could drive into town tomorrow and go get it removed at the local branch but I really can't be bothered to go into town on a weekend and pay for parking etc so was wondering if it can be removed with general household tools without damaging the coat?

Here is the tag in question..

Is it a simple magentic clutch holding the pin?

Thanks!

The discs don't come far enough apart to cut the pin and I don't want to put too much pressure on them in case the ink breaks.

Well my fun has been vetoed. Just as I was amassing a collection of tools to begin my assault she's called it off and phoned the company she got it from! :(

I can just imagine it:

Misses: Oh damn, it's got a security tag on it! We'll have to take it back.
You: Nah it's alright dear, i've got this! *Readies teaspoon and wirecutters*
Misses: No... I really think we should take it back..

I think it was the sound of the angle grinder that made her change her mind..

Can't be bothered but you took the time to post about it with a pic? Very odd.

One minute to take a pic and post it vs over an hour wasted getting into town and back. Worth trying first to see if it was an easy fix!
