Removing a suborn AVG Free installation…

Hey guys,

Are there any tools out there or anything else that can remove AVG? My brother’s machines version stopped loading and starting coming up with a ‘Can’t Load AVG’ etc message.

We tried uninstalling the normal way but it fails…

Got the latest version, 7.5, but we can’t repair or uninstall in that way either – or by Add/Remove Programs.

Any ideas?

Did you try uninstalling in XP safemode?

Have you tried getting the latest .exe: avg75free_446a965.exe

then just doing a install, seem to remmber having this on a clients PC and when I did a install ( not uninstall or repair) it over wrote the old one.

reboot then removing, it removed all the old and new files, then I went and did a new instail.

have you tried uninstalling using ccleaner, its pretty good for this sort of thing i find

Try installing again over the top, as mentioned above - worked for me a few times with some of the older versions of AVG.
