So my PC won't boot up at all and is stuck on the Onboard CPU LED. So I thought take the cooler off check the CPU and then put it back together again. Now if I do that with the same CPU do I need to replace the thermal paste or leave what is already on there? I have some thermal paste but it is a bit old 'Arctic MX-2', does thermal paste go off?

if it's just troubleshooting then should be fine to leave the old paste on
i would replace the paste if it's a full rebuild though (but looking at your other thread, doesn't sound like it is a rebuild)
